Being British, I love my tea! My cousins invited me to my second historical tea at the Patterson Homestead in Dayton, Ohio. You get a 3-course tea with scones, sandwiches, and sweets accompanied by a little history lesson. (And since I am somewhat of a history buff, this is right up my alley.) The first tea I went to in June was the Jane Austen tea, featuring members of the Jane Austen Society in period-appropriate attire. This month's tea was Halloween-themed, complete with history and details of how the Victorians celebrated the holiday.
All courses are served with a tea service, including china cups, plates, and saucers. (My British family would say it's rather 'posh'. LOL)
One of my favorite things about the teas is that all the hostesses are dressed in period attire. They even act like it is the Victorian era. Case in point, my cousin asked one of the hostesses if they had Sweet-in-Lo and the hostess replied 'I do not know what that is madam.' LOL
Can't wait until the Christmas tea!! :)
